Six moves for calmer, stickier practice at home. They work with flash cards, spelling words, homework โ or our app. Stick it on the fridge.
Short rounds beat long sessions for memory. Six and done โ even mid-groove. The practice lands, and tomorrow they'll come back willingly, which is the whole game.
When they miss one, resist the urgent re-teach. "Interesting โ want to see it again tomorrow?" The brain files what it had to reach for; spaced return does the re-teaching better than tonight's explanation.
"You checked your work" and "you stayed with the hard one" build a kid who tries. "You're so smart" builds a kid who protects the label by avoiding hard things.
Five minutes a day beats forty-five on Sunday. Make the target small enough that a bad day still clears it โ consistency is the ingredient, not volume.
Once a week: "show me the hardest thing you got." Not the grade โ the thing. Pride in a specific problem outlasts praise for a score.
A skipped day tells you the target was too big or the day was too full. Adjust and continue โ no guilt, no make-up marathons. Streaks serve the kid, never the reverse.
